    • Really fantastic stuff I had the privilege of meeting Mr Seaton at BookCon in Chicago Talk about an owner creator with his shit together. This book is gorgeous Great coloring, great art, really top notch all the way through Seaton sweats the details All the details. The mythos he s created here is lush and detailed, an alternate history that in no way interferes with actual history I can t wait to read the next one A classic superhero origin story Have you read things like this before Yes, several [...]

    • The Legend of Mantamaji is a phenomenal comic book The artist Brandon Palas did a remarkable job with the art work to bring this story to life I can really imagine a real life or movie version of the scenes that take place within the book The coloring and detail on every page bring the story to a whole new level Author, Eric Seaton is a true contender in the comic world Seaton knew what he was doing right from the beginning An African American D.E.A assistant in Manhattan, New York, soon discove [...]

    • Enjoyed reading the book It was definitely a page turner The artwork was excellent I think the story is very unique and I really enjoyed the character development especially the villain Sirach Additionally, the author created interesting supporting characters that made the journey of Elijah even compelling I look forward to reading the entire series.

    • I truly enjoyed reading book one of the Legend of the Mantamaji Well developed characters are supported by a story that is balanced with the right amount of humor and action The artwork is first class and compliments the writing style of the author I hope to be reading Eric Seaton s Legend of the Mantamaji for years to come.

    • I have been eagerly awaiting Legend of the Mantamaji from the minute I hear Eric Dean Seaton was working on it I was not disappointed Eric has created very full characters, from the cocky assistant DA who cares deeply for his mother, to the evil Sirach who lost his way I love the rich history and epic feel to the story The artwork is exceptional.Another plus is the diversity in this book that is often lacking in comics today It doesn t seem forced at all I, literally, could not stop reading I st [...]

    • This comic was extremely easy to read, and filling, and still had room for some surprises Just when I thought I knew what would happen next, it seemed like another swerve kept me reading on and on The story arc has so many places it can go from here and i can t wait to read the next book.

    • The Legend of Mantamaji by Eric Dean Seaton is a graphic novel series for all ages and anyone who loves solid storytelling Seaton has created two worlds that will certainly resonate with all readers young and old Mantamaji is a tale of self discovery in the context of modern ambitions The main character, Elijah Alexander, successful district attorney with single minded political aspirations is challenged to rethink his current life trajectory after a fateful reunion with his mother, Mariah The f [...]

    • The entire Legend of the Mantamaji series was featured as a Comic Con Exclusive at San Diego Comic Con 2014 where attendees got the opportunity to purchase the entire series in advance of their release date.Essentially, the story is a destiny story The main character is an assistant D.A minding his own businesses, climbing the ladder, planning out his life when destiny in the form of a mysterious stranger steps in to the picture Evil has taken a hold of his city and a tragedy leads him to step i [...]

    • A truly excellent freshman effort from Seaton and Palas The world is complex and interesting While the story borrows heavily from some tired tropes view spoiler fridging the mom to push the protagonist over the hero s threshold has been done a _few_ times hide spoiler , it still feels new and fresh, largely because it s a book about a black man, written by a black man Make no mistake, though, this book is written for anyone who likes a good story with eye popping art work Even the large amount o [...]

    • This story has revitalized my love for comic books and graphic novels Book 1 of this series is an enrapturing origin story with a deep, rich origin story BEHIND the story The artwork is superb and the characters all have an air of mystery and depth which makes you wonder about how much further the author is going to develop them as the series goes on What Legend of the Mantamaji does best is continue to pull the reader in while giving you just enough information to keep you engaged and immediate [...]

    • I was surprised how much I liked this My library purchased this and book 2, and I put it on hold on the off chance it would turn out to be good and yay It was I enjoyed it enough to pick up the next book, which I will hopefully be getting soon Despite being an over done trope hero didn t know he was special and suddenly gets cool powers , this book still manages to bring some interesting originality to the story.

    • Good premise, a little clumsy Some of the wording is trite, some overdone I can see it being really good when it gets off the ground.

    • I can t think of a hyped launch of a character or series since MileStone And Legend Of the Mantamaji meets if not exceeds expectation in all categories The artwork is stunning, the characters are well defined, and the Mythology and History behind the titled character is worth the price of admission alone So let s get into it.Premise Elijah Alexander, an ambitious Assistant DA, is not trying to break through the glass ceiling so much as blow it up This is a man with a mission and a dream and not [...]
