    • This is pretty horrible The writing is as uninspiring as the characters were It s been pointed out by others that the Heiress has only been homeless for two weeks and despite having been raised as a lady with some freedoms given by her mother she can pick pockets without a lot of blundering Yet she s silly enough to get robbed and doesn t exactly make that much of an effort to use her brain when escaping from her Uncle and Aunt I do find it amusing, however, that despite the fact that her Uncle [...]

    • I didn t care much for this book The heroine runs away from home, has all her property stolen and winds up living on the streets, dressed like a boy, and stealing for her living Though she s been raised a lady, she can somehow pick pockets with the best of the urchins And she picks the wrong pocket, stealing papers from a man working as a government agent He takes her home and hides her there from the villain she ran from I had problems with a lot of this book The writing seemed to veer from ove [...]

    • The Homeless Heiress was completely totally and utterly predictable The back cover blurb is misleading in that the heroine has only been homeless for two weeks and through her own inability to take care of herself, got robbed and ended up with no place to go Sorry but its hard to have much sympathy for her in that situation The characters are flat and the plot was predictable, The Homeless Heiress is than out of a home, she s out of luck too Cerise, ireadromance

    • This was terrible story, Georgie acted and talked like a 10 year old throughout the book The actions of the characters just didn t make any sense, they didn t feel like real people The story line just wouldn t end and it was only 320 pages Sentences were repeated over and over again In other words it was boring.

    • Ever pick up a book by the pool on holiday and spend your time wondering why it s so awful, and pressing on with it in the hope it gets better, and then hitting the end and spotting the millsboon sign and then realising that that is why it didn t Well, that s two stories running that have done that to me in a week. This one was girl in an unlikely situation, has an unlikely romance with an unlikely gentleman that she just happens to run into, and international unlikely events ensue.Probably enjoy [...]

    • Intriguing beginning, with a mysterious ex military government agent capturing a scruffy thief and then discovering the grimy boy is an elegant young lady fallen on desperate times. The predictability of the romantic development is offset by a subplot concerning treacherous Bonapartists, but neither the romance nor the action is able to prevent the story slipping into a repetition of stilted dialogues, lifeless descriptions, and two dimensional characterisations. The last few chapters are particul [...]

    • I enjoy the light romances set in Regency times Especially hen the heroine is a minx or willing to stand up for herself Georgie, here is a minx getting in trouble needing rescuing As usual, the two lovers are at odds, neither wanting to admit their feelings, although his reasons made sense to me Still a good escape for an evening.
